Our Featured Green Developments section is a service that showcases ‘green’ developers and developments from across the UK.
The developers featured here have all demonstrated a clear commitment to addressing climate change and sustainable living by attaining an BRE Eco Homes Very Good or Excellent standard with at least one of their developments.
Each page provides information on the developer and links to a selection of properties from each featured development.
In 2014 we decided to build a home that would eliminate the reliance on fossil fuels and eliminate fuel poverty. We wanted to help the environment and boost the local economy at the same time. The result was TY Solar (which means Solar House).
T? Solar Homes has been set up to develop zero energy affordable housing and we seek to source 80% of its materials and expertise in Wales, creating local material supply chains, training opportunities and employment.
The project completed its first build, a working prototype at Rhosygilwen – a solar powered two-storey 100m2 home to Level 5 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. It was opened by First Minister Carwyn Jones in November 2013.
Now, with their Garden Village project in Boncath, Wales, there is a unique opportunity to own a home of your own, powered by the sun.
